As a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability engineering of our new and emerging category of devices – Leo Customer Terminal. Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to un‑served and under‑served communities around the world.
In this role you will develop new reliability specifications, ensuring product reliability through Design for Reliability, reliability statistics, reliability tests and outdoor consumer/aviation electronics expertise.
Responsibilities- Define new test specifications, methodology and test coverage based on mission profiles to assure product reliability.
- Identify and validate product risks via Design for Reliability mechanisms and work with design teams to mitigate them during development.
- Provide hands‑on experimental design, execution, and test development.
- Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms and risk assessment on products under development and in the field.
- Engage with cross‑disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and testing.
- Strong understanding of Design for Reliability, reliability statistics, reliability tests, and outdoor consumer and aviation electronics.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Solid understanding of MIL‑STD and DO‑160 reliability requirements and reliability failure analysis techniques.
- Responsive, flexible, and capable of succeeding within an open collaborative peer environment.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience with the project management of technical projects.
The base salary range for this position is - USD annually. The Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
