For more information about our team, visit  We are seeking a Principal Quantum Engineer with a background in materials, fabrication, and/or electrical characterization of solid state quantum technologies to participate in the research and development of our qubits.

This role will have an opportunity to have a meaningful influence on a revolutionary technology. The research effort includes a diverse staff of theoretical and experimental physicists, hardware designers and software engineers around the world. Responsibilities

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field AND 8+ years' experience in industry or in a research and development environment
* OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field AND 6+ years' experience in industry or in a research and development environment
* OR Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field AND 3+ years' experience in industry or in a research and development environment

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
  This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations.   * Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency (e.g., performance modeling and analysis, research gathering, day to day task automation).
  * Ability to design and build AI agents/copilots that assist with experiment setup, log triage, measurement report generation, protocol templating, and knowledge retrieval (e.g. instrument manuals, design docs)
  * Effective interdisciplinary technical communication skills (written and verbal)
