Details / Scope of the ProjectOperate high-precision laser and testing equipment, ensure compliance with ASTM standards, troubleshoot and optimize processes, and maintain accurate documentation and safety.
Responsibilities- The technical stack blends precision laser systems, mechanical testing hardware, CAD/design tools, compliance standards, data analysis software, and collaboration platforms.
- The team relies on both hands‑on equipment skills and software/data skills to operate, test, document, and optimize processes.
- Laser Micromachining Expertise:
Nano‑perforation, ablation, and precision material processing. - Laser system setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
- Mechanical Testing Proficiency:
High‑speed and low‑speed test frames, shock towers. - Understanding of test protocols, sample handling, and data collection.
- Fixture Design & Fabrication:
Design custom test fixtures for material testing. - Ability to fabricate and implement fixtures safely and accurately.
- Standards & Compliance Knowledge:
Strong understanding of ASTM testing standards. - Ensuring procedures comply with lab best practices and safety protocols.
- Data Documentation & Analysis:
Accurate recording of process parameters, maintenance logs, and test results. Ability to interpret and report findings clearly.
- Attention to detail and precision. Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting mindset.
- Collaboration and communication with engineering, quality, and lab teams.
- Time management and task prioritization to handle testing and machine operations.
- Commitment to safety and lab organization.
- Any specific industry backgrounds required:
Precision optics (laser processing experience), advanced manufacturing or R&D environments focused on high‑precision processes.
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $120k - $140k/ year
. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
