Test Engineer

Overview

An employer is looking for a Test Engineer to join their Electronics Hardware Engineering Team in Redmond, WA.

This person will not be writing their own test plans but will need to be able to read Python and work with the design and engineering team to articulate the testing results and what needs to be changed. The Design Team will create the test plans and pass them to this person who will test, troubleshoot and deliver the results. Down the road this person will deliver the results to the Engineering team for large scale execution.

This person should be able to carry out automation, but will not be writing automation scripts themselves. This person will need to have hands on experience with oscilloscopes and power supplies. They need to have strong hands on experience with PCBA and a strong troubleshooting mindset.

• Carry out automation tasks as part of testing, but will not write automation scripts themselves.
• Perform hands-on testing with oscilloscopes and power supplies.
• Work with PCBA and exhibit a strong troubleshooting mindset.
• Prepare and deliver results to the Engineering team for large-scale execution.

• 2+ years of related industry experience
• 2+ years experience working with PCBA
• In-depth hardware and circuit designs experience
• Experience in using logic analyzers for digital signals such as I2C, SPI, CAN bus
• Experience with analog power circuit AC/DC converters such as SEPIC, Buck, LC resonance, Flyback, motor driver, current sense circuits
• Experience using thermal chambers and setting up DAQ logging system for long term evaluation and PCBA bring ups
• Ability to read and analyze electronic schematics
• Knowledge of voltage dividers, currents, voltages, inductors, capacitors
• Understands the charging of the satellites
• Understand electronic components and how they work
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for hardware systems
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Production environment ideally
• Document test procedures, results, and hardware defects
• Degree in electrical engineering;
