Step Into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking a junior Civil Design Engineer to join our growing team of professionals in our Seattle (Redmond) Washington office. The project work will involve design-bid-build and alternative delivery projects relating to transportation projects.
Skills andJob Responsibilities
- Collect data and gather information or documents
- Perform standard computations and analysis
- Perform design tasks
- Prepare drawings and visual aids
- Assist in and/or prepare material specification/selection, technical reports, plans and procedures, drawings, permit applications, project documentation, and computer aided design (CAD) work
- Observe construction activities
- Acquire basic knowledge and develop skills in assigned work streams
- Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established Kleinfelder, industry and client standards, specifications, and processes to perform assigned tasks
- Demonstrate sound engineering judgment
- Preparation of preliminary/final engineering construction documents for a variety of projects
- Ability to pro-actively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutions
- Interest in Civil Engineering design of streets, storm drains, sanitary sewers, grading/earthworks, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, permitting, constructability evaluations
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Previous experience with In-Roads or Civil 3D software
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in civil engineering - preferably in the roadway design capacity with a focus on public projects
- EIT required
- PE license preferred
Kleinfelder, and its subsidiaries and affiliates, offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $75,005 - $98,000.
