Harris is seeking a Test Engineer to join our facility in Redmond, Washington. In this role you will play a multiple disciplinary function in the successful coordination of vibration, hot fire, and component level testing of our rockets. You will support testing of monopropellant, bipropellant, and electric thrusters for various in-space applications.
- Develop, design, and evaluate test methods, procedures and equipment used in testing systems and components. Conduct rocket engine vibration and hot firing tests in a vacuum chamber while ensuring measurements and data acquisition and control systems are properly configured. Use engineering principles to ensure set ups are properly designed prior to starting a test.
- Work with Structural engineering and technicians to drive rigor in vibration testing of our rocket engines. Monitor and maintain data acquisition, control, and mechanical systems in the vibration lab.
- Organize technician work force tasks to accomplish test objectives.
- Assist in planning test setup requirements through document reviews, customers review meetings, and proposal inputs for potential new business.
- Analyze engine test data and facility data as needed for monitoring hardware and equipment.
- Participate in our Emergency Response Team.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain a respirator certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Integration/Test experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior Integration/Test experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of Integration/Test experience.
- A Bachelor's Degree in an aerospace, mechanical, chemical, or other engineering discipline is preferred.
- Experience working with fluid systems and/or ability to calculate pressures within a fluid system
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with various skillsets
- Good communication skills in both written and verbal forms
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of Washington is $76,500 - $141,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
