Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
As a Hardware Engineer you will be part of a team of experts working on the development of advanced satellite systems. You will own or contribute to the following:
- Design and optimization of circuitry for satellite systems
- Design of proof‑of‑concept prototypes for the next generation of satellite hardware
- Close collaboration with radiation, power, mechanical, thermal, RF, and software teams
- Design of automated test systems, test fixtures, and factory test processes
- Bring‑up and qualification test campaigns of satellite hardware
- Lead and review PCB layout
Export Control Requirement:
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of industrial experience, especially at board level analog/digital design
- 1+ year of experience in high‑speed digital design, multi‑gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
- 2+ years of experience using schematic capture tools
- 2+ years of experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
- Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Master of Science or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op‑amps, filters, etc.)
- Experience in design, implementation, bring‑up, and debugging of proof‑of‑concept hardware and prototypes
- Familiarity with power supply design
- Proficiency in developing programs for instrument control
