Job Title:
Vendor Engineer Cellular / WWAN Validation & Debug
Location:
Redmond, WA
Onsite and fulltime only
Simulator experience is required ( , R&S) Script validation and analysis, Automatio is must.
The salary for this role is $65000 to $95000 per annum
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated vendor engineer with strong expertise in cellular technologies (4G/5G) to support device validation, debugging, and certification activities. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams (FW, SW, modem, and labs) to ensure robust cellular performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end device validation for cellular technologies including LTE, 5G (SA/NSA) features
- Execute and analyze lab and field testing across multiple carriers and network conditions
- Conduct protocol-level debugging using logs (QXDM, MBIM traces, modem logs, etc.)
- Identify, isolate, and root-cause cellular connectivity issues (attach, call drops, data failures, standby behavior)
- Work with internal teams and vendors to triage bugs and drive issues to closure
- Support regression validation and sanity verification.
- Generate test reports, defect summaries, and RCA documentation
- Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and validation frameworks
Core Technical Skills
- Strong protocol knowledge (3
GPP LTE/5G signaling, NAS/RRC basics, IMS/SIP flows) - Device testing experience (smartphones, modems, or embedded systems)
- Hands-on experience with cellular test equipment (e.g., call boxes like Anritsu, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz)
- Experience in log analysis and debugging tools (e.g., QXDM, modem logs, trace analysis)
- Good understanding of cellular call flows, attach procedures, and data connectivity
- Working knowledge of scripting (Python / Power Shell / Bash) for test automation, log parsing, or workflow efficiency
