Optical Engineer III

Position: 70342-1 - Optical Engineer III
Summary:
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to predict and improve system-level performance of novel products and prototypes. Using internally developed simulation tools-including an existing display emulation codebase in MATLAB-you will analyze results to directly enhance product and prototype performance while improving the codebase's maintainability, efficiency, and capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:
Code refactoring in IQToolbox.
Use simulation tools to model end-to-end performance of display systems.
Report analysis of these simulations to establish specifications for these display systems and ensure a successful product
Collaborate with the larger research team to explore concepts and drive system performance to create compelling experiences.

Must Have Skills:
Deep proficiency in MATLAB.
Strong software development skills.

Experience with source control.

Nice To Have Skill:
Signal/Image processing
Mathematical modeling and simulation
Color science
Knowledge of display technologies (µLED, OLED, LCD, LCOS, DMD) or display pipeline architecture
Familiarity with display metrology/calibration, image quality metrics, or human perception

Education/Experience:
Have at least 5 years experience in software development.
BS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science, Color Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work/education experience.
