Principal Welding Engineer

• Lead the development and rollout of robotic welding processes across international manufacturing locations.
• Own the strategy for welding technology and automation, ensuring alignment with wider business goals.
• Work closely with external partners, integrators and suppliers to evaluate and implement new solutions.
• Drive initiatives focused on improving productivity, reducing waste and enhancing product quality.
• Support production planning by ensuring welding capacity and processes meet operational demands.
• Promote standardization of welding processes across global sites including the US, China, Brazil and Mexico.
• Address complex technical challenges using structured problem solving and engineering expertise.

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in industrial automation, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Proven exposure to robotic welding and automated production systems.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Experience managing CAPEX projects and delivering process improvements.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and locations.

The successful Principal Welding Engineer will join Genie, part of Terex Corporation, a globally established organization investing in advanced manufacturing capabilities. You will play a central role in driving automation across the business, supporting the transition to more efficient and standardized welding processes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large scale transformation projects while working closely with leadership and international teams with the opportunity to progress to Subject Matter Expert level in welding technology.
