Job Summary

As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team of systems engineers in designing, developing, and delivering advanced systems that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and work on site in Redmond, WA.

You will support and deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving customer needs, working under limited supervision with some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to developing Honeywell's next generation products by designing, testing, and validating products/processes from prototype to market.

As part of a group of highly committed professionals, you will provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while mentoring junior engineers and interacting with internal and external customers to meet specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support numeric evaluation of product design, integration, and qualification activities for new inertial navigation products.
  • Calibrate inertial sensors and inertial systems.
  • Evaluate sensor and system performance, e.g., reading and understanding Root Allan Variance.
  • Support trade studies and issue resolution activities (e.g., FMEA, RCCA).
  • Prepare technical documentation for review by senior technical staff.
  • Communicate technical status to managers, senior staff, and external customers.
  • Support internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs).
  • Support customer flow‑down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, and technical solution development.
  • Support system document development, including system‑level requirements, Interface Control Documents, Hardware Requirements Specifications, Performance Verification Test Plans, and certification documents.
  • Support proposal efforts, including development of BOEs.
  • Perform simulations, data analysis, define test procedures, and review results to determine compliance requirements.
You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and engineering management.
  • Mastery of systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting across multiple work streams.
  • 2+ years of experience with inertial instruments.
  • 3+ years of professional experience, or 2+ years with an advanced degree in engineering or science.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

  • Masters or PhD.
  • Advanced engineering degrees such as EE or ME.
  • Experience with test system integration for high‑precision inertial sensors/IMU.
  • Experience with inertial sensor/IMU requirements and qualification procedures.
  • Experience with numerical data analysis, regression, and curve fitting.
  • Experience with Matlab, Creo, Solid Works, and MathCAD.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methods;
    Black Belt training preferred.
  • Experience leading complex system integration projects.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem‑solving capability.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual base salary range: $120,000 - $149,000
