Test Reliability Engineer

Build Reliability Engineer – Optical Inter‑Satellite Link (OISL)

Location: Redmond, WA (100% On‑site, 5 Days/Week)

• Plan and execute environmental, qualification, and reliability testing on optical systems, components, and subsystems.
• Partner with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Reliability teams to validate product performance and lifetime requirements.
• Investigate production, inspection, and reliability failures using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze manufacturing and reliability data to drive quality, yield, and process improvements.
• Review product qualification activities, non‑conforming hardware, and failure reports to ensure flight‑quality standards.
• Provide material engineering expertise by evaluating material selections, compatibility, and manufacturing trade‑offs.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to cross‑functional engineering teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Experience with materials analysis, failure analysis, or reliability engineering methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with PCB/PCBA fabrication and assembly processes.
• Strong statistical data analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
• Production Quality or Supplier Quality experience.
• Material engineering knowledge and material compatibility assessment.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Familiarity with industry reliability standards such as Telcordia GR-468, MIL-STD-810, IPC, and JEDEC
  .
• Experience with Python, JMP, Minitab
  , or similar data analysis tools.

The salary for this position is between $125,000 and $130,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
