Description
Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Keyjob responsibilities
- PD Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for multiple system components (housings, PCBs, thermal components, etc).
- Work with cross functional team to solve difficult electromechanical problems to enable the design.
- Identify key design constraints and priorities.
- Demonstrate solid mechanical fundamentals and judgement through design decisions.
- Deliver robust, flexible, durable, and performant designs.
- Concise and accurate communication with PD members, cross functional teams, and executives.
- Customer-focused when solving ambiguous problems.
- Ability to create scalable solutions while solving tactical problems.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- Knowledge of Creo or similar CAD tools and understanding of best practices for part design and advanced assemblies
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Experience in product development and design engineering
- Knowledge of tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with finite element analysis tools (Ansys, Creo Simulate)
