Amazon Leo Satellite Power Systems Engineer
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas.
We want individuals who are curious, eager to learn, and ready to grow their technical depth in spacecraft power systems.
Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats, and work in a highly collaborative environment. We will need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains.
Key job responsibilities include supporting simulation, analysis, requirements development, and verification for the Leo satellite power system. In this role, you will track power consumption of various satellite avionics units, build and run electrical models of power system components, process on-orbit telemetry data to validate system performance, and support trade studies working with technical leaders. You will develop scripts and tools to automate data processing, generate power budget reports, and assist in maintaining the simulation infrastructure used across the power systems team.
You will work with technical leaders and cross-functional partners to understand system-level requirements, execute analysis tasks, and present results in design reviews. You will gain hands-on exposure to the full satellite power system lifecycle—from component-level modeling through on-orbit performance monitoring.
