Summary:
Meta is seeking an experienced Prototype Build Engineer to join our team. As a Prototype Build Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the execution of prototype builds from concept through delivery, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure successful outcomes.

Partner with internal teams and vendors to plan and manage operational resources required to execute prototype buildsCollaborate with Research Engineers to deliver prototypes as requestedResolve schedule setbacks by developing and implementing recovery plansWork with program management to ensure the assembly flow is properly supported across functions to deliver material and hardware on scheduleProvide program status updates and risk assessments to management to support short- and long-term goalsCommunicate prototype build plans across multiple programsEstablish and drive a clear plan and path forward for executing prototype builds successfully, including:Defining scope, timelines, and resource requirementsIdentifying and mitigating risks and dependenciesDeveloping and maintaining detailed schedules, milestones, and build plansCoordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaborationEnsuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standardsDevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and internal teamsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectivenessMinimum Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience with consumer electronic products2+ years of experience with hardware development cycles and sustaining hardware2+ years of experience in manufacturing assembly and test developmentExperience leading engineers and technicians in daily work and building teamsPreferred Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)MS degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experienceExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience building cross-functional relationshipsExperience with optical and electro-mechanical systemsExperience optimizing designs for existing products or devicesPublic Compensation:
$144,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
