This role involves the development of RF schematics, layout, and collaboration with vendors for the DFM and manufacturing of research systems and devices. The position requires performing RF link budget analysis, debugging RF issues in a lab setting, and conducting simulations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure RF performance is met at all levels of the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop RF schematics, layout, and work with vendors for DFM and manufacturing for research systems and devices.
- Perform RF link budget analysis and RF issue debugging in the lab.
- Perform simulation (RF circuit simulation and 3D EM Simulation), performance tuning/optimization and validation of RF conducted performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure RF performance are met at component, board and system level.
- Work with antenna and test engineers to ensure the quality of the overall system.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in RF hardware design for consumer electronics is necessary. This includes experience with RF front-end and SoC schematic, layout capture, and board bring-up. Candidates must have work experience with RF lab equipment for device characterization, debugging, and performance validation.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with RF circuit and EM simulation software is required. Candidates must be effective communicators and team players.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MS or PhD in RF/Electromagnetics.
- 5 or more years of industry experience.
- Experience in Schematic Capture and PCB Layout using Cadence or Altium.
- Experience in WiFi/BT or Cellular RF module design, optimization, and validation.
