Job Description We are seeking a senior Reliability Engineer to own and execute the reliability strategy for research hardware programs. You will collaborate with a large breadth of cross-functional disciplines to understand emerging designs, processes, and technologies, identifying and mitigating risks associated with these various technologies and architectures. The ideal candidate has a "can do" attitude with a strong background in reliability engineering, aptitude for managing through ambiguity, high attention to detail, thirst for knowledge, and an inherent interest in all aspects of engineering.
Responsibilities Partner with engineers and research scientists to define the comprehensive reliability strategies and test plans for research hardware programs, including sequential "waterfall" test campaigns across build phases. Plan, schedule, and execute reliability testing at both component and full-system level Define sample sizes, test conditions, pass/fail criteria, and acceptance limits, and ensure test methods align with program requirements and applicable industry standards.
Design, develop, and validate new reliability test setups including mechanical, electrical, and software systems Triage, document, and drive reliability failures to closure with ME, EE, and design partners, clearly articulating root cause, risk, and recommended corrective action; distinguish test-artifact failures from genuine design or process escapes. Interface with external manufacturing and supply partners on reliability issues, corrective actions, and joint test activity.
Analyze reliability and test data using statistical methods; produce clear, defensible conclusions from limited prototype sample sizes.
