As a Sr. Adv Atomic Physicist with Honeywell Aerospace, you will use your technical skills to develop new products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive development of technologies such as atomic clocks, atomic RF sensors, and photonics. You will also have input into a variety of strategically important business‑critical tasks in the growing field of quantum and optical sensing.
InThis Sr. Adv Atomic Physicist Role, You Will
- Fill a critical role in an atomic clock development program.
- Work as part of our team of scientists and engineers to develop new atomic sensor technology concepts, and demonstrate them in practical devices.
- Engage with customers and partners to define their needs and requirements, then apply your skills to find creative solutions through rigorous analysis, engineering, and experimentation.
- Use your expertise to spur the growth of our technology portfolio in new directions, shaping the future of sensing technology.
- Responsible for supporting numeric evaluation of product design, integration, and qualification activities for internal R&D and customer funded programs
- Evaluation of system performance
- Support trade studies and issue resolution (e.g. FMEA, RCCA) activities
- Communicate technical status to manager, senior technical staff, and external customers
- Contribute to design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs)
- Support customer flow‑down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development
- Support system documents development, including but not limited to system‑level requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, Performance Verification Test Plan Procedure, Certification documents
- Support proposal efforts, including development of BOEs
- Perform simulations, data analysis, define test procedures, and review results to determine compliance to requirements

Work Schedule:
M-F hybrid - 3 days in office and 2 days remote after 90 days.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- >6 years of R&D experience in AMO physics, especially in the areas of atomic clocks
- Experience in technical leadership
- Experience working with internal and external customers
- Track record of solving difficult, complex problems through innovation, analysis, engineering, and experimentation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills reflected in a record of published results and public presentations in your field of research.
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Experience with numerical data analysis, regression and curve fitting
- Experience with Matlab, Creo, Solid Works, and MathCAD
- Familiar with Six Sigma Methods, with Black Belt training preferred
- Ability to influence cross‑functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
