Laboratory Technician

A client in Redmond, WA is looking to hire a Lab Technician focused on Hardware, level
4. This person will work on site 5 days a week onsite in the lab. This team is focused on supporting the development of custom compute and AI hardware for data centers and this individual will contribute to taking hands-on measurements of pre-production engineering samples of hardware to help drive the development of hardware and get it ready for manufacturing so it can be placed in data centers.

This person will prepare systems for measurement, solder and rework systems and summarize data collected.

This role provides the opportunity to work onsite in a large lab, helping develop hardware that is very important for data centers. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in the field overall, with at least 7 years experience as a lab technician. Day to day job duties will include:

• Execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance
• Assemble systems or test fixtures as needed to prepare for measurements
• Add instruments to devices/boards under test to enable high precision measurements
• Some soldering may be necessary to prepare boards for measurement

Must Haves:

• 7 years experience as a lab technician WITH
• 7 years experience with taking electrical measurements for hardware
• 7 years experience with reworking/assembling/soldering hardware
• 8-10 years overall experience in the field

Nice to Haves:

• Direct experience making vector network analyzer (VNA) measurements for the verification of high-speed interconnect performance
• Familiarity with high-speed interconnects found in data center platforms such as PCI Express, DDR etc
• Experience with assembling data center platforms- installing boards into chassis, attaching cables, heatsinks, fans etc
