Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is to leverage Amazon Leo and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers.
We have an immediate opening for a Program Manager to support the ALG team focusing on State Govt, Local Govt, and Education programs. As a Program Manager, you will manage the delivery of Amazon Leo satellite communication services to meet customer needs and business objectives. You'll manage resources assigned to your program and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program health and drive program decision making.
Keyjob responsibilities
This role is responsible for planning and delivering Amazon Leo's government communication systems solutions in support of a wide variety of government users utilizing Amazon Leo's Low Earth Orbit satellites. You will work closely with the commercial satellite teams to organize resources, schedule milestones, and track program progress. You will be responsible for identifying project dependencies and critical paths. On a day-to-day basis, you will coordinate among teams and subcontractors to surface and solve the critical risks to the programs you are assigned to lead.
In this role you will:
- Drive project execution, develop project plans, make technical trade-offs, manage risks, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues
- Act as the point of contact for Amazon Leo for Government with external teams, partners, and subcontractors for assigned solutions, to identify and mitigate programmatic risks in order to meet established goals
- Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on the plans, status, and critical issues in narrative and verbal formats. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner
- Unblock issues by pulling together the multi-functional technical expertise to resolve issues
- Develop, track, and communicate project schedules and achievements
- Work closely with partner organizations (including government agencies) to develop work packages and ensure that all teams have what they need to be successful
- Establish goals and metrics to identify opportunities to deliver customer solutions to meet cost, performance and schedule requirements
Export Control - This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
