Position: Technical Program Manager II (6178)

itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to drive end-to-end display algorithm development, validation, and execution for next-generation AR/Smart Glasses products. This role will play a critical part in coordinating complex cross‑functional programs across hardware, software, and display engineering teams to ensure high‑quality visual experiences are successfully delivered on production hardware. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in hardware/software co‑development programs, display technologies, and technical program execution, along with a proven ability to deliver complex initiatives within fast‑paced and ambiguous development environments.

Location: Hybrid – Redmond, WA

Note:

Contractors will be required to work onsite once offices reopen and cannot remain fully remote.

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: $40 – $43 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end validation roadmap planning across algorithm development, hardware testing, prototype software validation, and production readiness milestones.
  • Drive cross‑functional coordination between display hardware engineers, software engineers, architects, product managers, and subsystem TPMs to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple technical work streams and proactively resolve blockers impacting delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate hardware allocation, prototype device availability, and test infrastructure readiness to support validation activities.
  • Maintain and drive mitigation plans for program risks through active tracking, ownership alignment, and escalation management.
  • Communicate program status, milestone updates, validation outcomes, and risk assessments to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Support execution of display compensation algorithm validation efforts to ensure image quality requirements are achieved on real hardware platforms.
  • Operate autonomously within fast‑paced development environments with evolving requirements and aggressive launch timelines.
Internal Responsibilities
  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast‑track opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager supporting hardware/software co‑development programs.
  • 3+ years of experience in display technology, image processing, algorithm validation, or electro-optical systems engineering.
  • Experience leading complex multi-workstream programs across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
  • Strong understanding of hardware dependencies, including prototype build schedules, device allocation, and testing coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical programs in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments with tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience using data to drive validation and execution decisions.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience presenting technical program updates, validation results, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with display compensation algorithms and image quality pipelines.
  • Familiarity with display technology testing methodologies.
  • Experience managing 0-to-1 consumer device programs from prototype validation through mass production.
  • Knowledge of AR/VR/XR display systems, including near‑eye display architectures and image quality metrics.
  • Previous experience working in large‑scale technology organizations.
