Overview

Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP's vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities  mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, One Drive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.

The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization.

Responsibilities

* Own supply planning for assigned commodities, including supplier forecast reviews, supply commitments, and internal communication of supply status and supportability.

* Partner with suppliers, system integrators, and internal stakeholders to ensure purchase orders align with supply plans, inventory strategy, and operational requirements.

* Manage key supply metrics such as inventory health, days of supply, shortages, excess and obsolete inventory, and supplier exposure to drive performance improvements.

* Lead cross-functional planning for product transitions, including end-of-life management, new platform ramp readiness, and risk mitigation.

* Define and optimize inventory buffer strategies based on forecast, demand patterns, and business risk.

* Conduct scenario planning to assess the impact of supply constraints, demand changes, and other risks to the supply plan.

* Oversee component flow across build stages, regions, and manufacturing or hub locations to ensure continuity of supply.

* Drive program management across supply chain initiatives by identifying process improvements, coordinating cross-functional execution, and improving planning tools and processes.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
