Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP's vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide.
We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, One Drive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.
The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization.

Responsibilities
Analytics, Tools, and Processes
* Serves as an expert in tools and processes for managing supply and driving improvements to avoid additional labor needs.
* Oversees the use of automation and scaling of systems for inventory.
* Provides leadership for and reviews audits of checks and balances into the system to ensure risks and liability are in check.
* Summarizes complex systems or processes into simplifie supply chain fundamental steps for senior leaders.
* Defines and drives process changes and improvements.
* Oversees standardization and maturity processes.
* Determines potential data sources for the team to analyze supply.
Communication
* Serves as a key point of contact between teams for senior leaders to ensure priorities are defined, communicated, and executed.
* Communicates with stakeholders, including senior leaders.
Supply and Demand
* Drives direction for and leads forward or reverse broad and complex supply plan of significant scope, scale, and size of decisions.
* Drives prioritization with contractor manager and suppliers.
* Determines raw materials buffers and flexibility to absorb fluctuations in demand.
* Drives collaboration and alignment on plans, fostering cross-functional relationships (e.g., Finance, other partners).
* Drives strategy for plans and takes on additional forecast variability, and with longer-term planning horizons.
Custom Silicon NPI Program Management
* Drives leadership and supply across New Product Introduction efforts
Lifecycle and Inventory Management
* Addresses obsolescence of goods and provides solutions.
* Anticipates changes in demand build and deployment and direction before issues arise.
* Ensures optimal strategy for reworking/refurbishing finished goods, designs mitigation solutions for goods, and redeploys them in another area, when applicable.
* Oversees the planning of raw materials for the building of products or goods.
* Provides direction for the transition of old products to new products while avoiding materials stranded and yield and storage issues.
* Anticipates challenges and presents solutions to determine quantity of materials needed for last time buy decisions to ensure goods can continue to be made.
* Defines buffer strategy leveraging deep understanding of the buffer calculations and direct changes.
* Drives buffer changes as needed.
* Drives raw materials and finished good plans in conjunction with each other.
* Leverages understanding of capacity and incorporates into buffer strategy.
* Drives service levels based on fundamental changes to the buffer strategy.
* Launches new products and/or supply chain strategies that are high risk.
* Leads strategy for ramps and works with sourcing and New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology teams on individual component liabilities to advise senior leaders on risk.
