Uni Sea is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team in beautiful Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient service for internal maintenance customers. Plan and schedule all maintenance activities both short- and long-term. Analyze workloads, prioritize tasks, assign staff, ensure repair parts are available, and adjust schedules as needed. Support data technology initiatives for planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Supervise maintenance managers and department operations.

Essential Duties
  • Hire, train, and supervise department staff; evaluate performance to ensure standards are met and address issues as needed. Stay aware of employee concerns and promote positive relations.
  • Assess, set priorities, and plan maintenance projects to make the best use of Operations downtime, available maintenance staff, and equipment for completing essential tasks. Serve as the main contact person for both operations and maintenance teams concerning maintenance projects and related work.
  • Assess employee workloads, skills, and task requirements to prioritize maintenance projects and ensure timely, cost-effective completion.
  • Create material requests for maintenance, parts, and new project items. Address purchasing issues related to these requests. Review requests with the Maintenance Director before approval and release.
  • Verify that all maintenance departments comply with State and Federal rules on employee safety, equipment operation, food safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Create and update workload schedules, forecast technician availability for major repairs and overhauls, check compliance with target dates, and adjust schedules as needed. Track job progress against deadlines and report all active and pending jobs to the Director.
  • Manage and monitor preventative maintenance for all equipment and buildings. Supervise maintenance staff with short-term scheduling to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Foster continuous improvement across all maintenance departments.
  • Assess work records to ensure accurate reporting and oversee the ongoing updating and upkeep of records within the Maintenance Data Management System.
  • Manage capital projects from start to finish, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and contractors. Create clear project scopes.
  • All capital projects and operational processes must adhere rigorously to Company, State, and Federal Health and Safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial maintenance or related field is required or relevant work experience and education.
  • Previous experience working in a food processing environment strongly desired.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of maintenance planning experience in a supervisory role.
  • Must have previous supervisory experience.
  • Previous maintenance project management is required.
  • Must be willing to live and work in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Free housing and utilities (electricity, water, sewer, garbage) are provided by Uni Sea.

This position is a salaried exempt position with a salary range of $96,754 – $116,120, DOE.
