In Redmond, WA, Astronics AES is hiring a Conformal Coater for the 2nd shift (Mon - Thurs, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am).
Job SummaryThe Conformal Coater will apply various conformal coating (e.g. polyurethane, parylene, etc.) for subassemblies and assembled circuit boards using both automated equipment and spray guns.
Duties & Responsibilities- Operate various conformal coating machinery, ovens, paint booths and soldering equipment as well as power and hand tools.
- Apply Parylene and Humiseal conformal coating to assembled circuit boards using automated machines and spray gun processes.
- Apply, inspect and remove tape and masking material from circuit boards.
- Mix and work with chemicals for bonding and coating (Parylene and Humiseal) applications.
- Perform all in-process inspection, as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrates familiarity of job duties (typically 1-2 years of direct experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position).
- Continual use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Wearing of common protective or safety equipment.
- Visual Color Discrimination - The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
- Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to contaminants.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions.
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, this position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws. Employment is contingent upon the employee’s authorization to access such items under applicable law. - An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test, which includes screening for the use of cannabis.
Salary is $20.12 - $27.22 per hour, dependent on experience. Mid-point is $23.67. 2nd shift pay a $2 per hour shift differential on top of base pay.
