Company Overview:

Starcloud is building a network of data centers in space, starting at kilowatts and scaling to gigawatt capacity. Falling launch costs allow us to take advantage of the abundant energy, radiative cooling techniques, and ability to rapidly scale in space. Join our team, push the boundaries of the space economy, and be part of this pioneering effort to redefine the future of energy.

About

the Role

Starcloud is seeking a Facilities Manager to own the reliability, safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of our facilities as we scale manufacturing and test operations. This person will lead facilities execution across building systems, maintenance programs, vendor management, space planning, and site improvement projects.

The ideal candidate has managed facilities in a high-rate production environment and knows how to keep critical infrastructure running with minimal disruption. Experience in automotive manufacturing, food production, mass production, aerospace manufacturing, or other high-throughput industrial environments is a major plus.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You should be comfortable switching between strategic planning, contractor management, urgent troubleshooting, technician coordination, and direct problem‑solving on the floor.

Responsibilities
  • Own day‑to‑day facilities operations for Starcloud’s manufacturing, engineering, integration, test, and office areas.
  • Maintain high uptime for critical building and production‑support systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection, security, access control, janitorial, waste handling, shop infrastructure, and general building maintenance.
  • Build and run preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment and production‑support infrastructure.
  • Lead facilities technicians, contractors, and third‑party service providers; set priorities, track execution, and hold vendors accountable to cost, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Support high‑rate production by eliminating facilities‑related blockers to manufacturing, integration, test, receiving, shipping, and materials flow.
  • Manage site improvement projects, including layout changes, equipment moves, utility drops, office/lab/shop buildouts, and production‑area upgrades.
  • Implement facilities processes that scale: work‑order intake, prioritization, spare parts, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, dashboards, and escalation paths.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership to ensure facilities plans align with company priorities.
  • Maintain high standards for workplace cleanliness, organization, safety, and operational discipline.
  • Manage facilities budgets, purchase requests, service contracts, and vendor negotiations.
  • Provide on‑call support for urgent facilities issues, including after‑hours and weekend response when needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, facilities supervision, maintenance management, plant operations, or industrial site operations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production, test, warehouse, or industrial operations.
  • Hands‑on understanding of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, compressed air, plumbing, fire/life safety, access control, and facility maintenance.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, technicians, or maintenance personnel.
  • Experience creating or operating preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work onsite in Redmond and Woodinville, WA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high‑rate manufacturing environments such as automotive, food production, consumer goods, electronics, aerospace, or other mass production operations.
  • Experience supporting 24/7, multi‑shift, or high‑uptime production environments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing.
  • Experience managing facility expansions, production‑line moves, equipment installations, or rapid site buildouts.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting instincts.
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating service contracts, and comparing vendor proposals.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, fire/life safety, hazardous materials, lockout/tagout, and general EHS requirements.
  • Ability to…
