Triumph is seeking a motivated and aspiring Manufacturing Engineering Intern to work closely with our experienced manufacturing engineers, supporting various process improvement projects within our organization. This internship provides a unique hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a student eager to apply their academic knowledge to solve real-world manufacturing challenges and contribute to impactful projects.
Responsibilities- Support the design of equipment storage for tools, fixtures, and products used in manufacturing.
- Assist in the optimization of the manufacturing environment to reduce waste.
- Assist in the creation of manufacturing documentation
- Help identify opportunities for improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout the manufacturing floor.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field from a college or university.
- Strong academic record (e.g., minimum GPA of 3.0 or as specified by the company).
- Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, Autodesk, etc.).
- Basic understanding of common shop tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills (but not required):
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Design experience using Solid Works is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Gain hands-on experience with various aerospace manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment.
- Enhance technical skills in areas such as process improvement, tooling design, and quality control.
- Strengthen problem-solving, analytical, and project management capabilities.
- Opportunity to network with experienced aerospace professionals and mentors.
- Learn about industry safety protocols, and quality management systems (e.g., AS9100).
- Contribute to meaningful projects that impact the company's operations and products.
- Receive mentorship and guidance from senior manufacturing engineers.
Pay Range: $27.00/HR - $30.00/HR
