Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Key Responsibilities- Follow work instructions and safety procedures.
- Assemble and test a variety of LRUs, electrical‑mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds with a focus on detail.
- Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory.
- Execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables.
- Execute test procedures for component and system‑level testing and maintenance.
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations.
- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated.
- Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc.).
- Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ years in a high‑traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification.
- 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches).
- 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military, or other high‑reliability operating environment.
- Experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Experience working with FOD, ESD‑sensitive hardware, and clean‑room requirements.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment (including previous certifications).
- Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, optical, and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing, and/or satellite components.
- Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment.
USA, Washington State, Redmond – 37.00–40.00 USD hourly. The starting pay for this role is up to $33.50 per hour, with incremental raises based on tenure. Pay is based on market location and shift differential. Employees are eligible for overtime, performance bonuses, and benefits including EAP, mental health support, medical advice line, and 401(k) matching.
