Machinist II/III – Redmond, WA

Position to manufacture new fixtures and maintain and repair welding, machining, and assembly fixtures. Provide technical support to the manufacturing team. Operate tooling machinery safely and efficiently, analyze manufacturing problems, fabricate parts, document fixtures, check tolerances, and train manufacturing team on tool usage.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate all machine shop machinery (saws, milling machines, drill press, lathes, hydraulic press, belt sanders, grinders, hand tools).
  • Read and interpret complex part drawings and assembly kit drawings.
  • Check fabricated tools and parts against specified tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
  • Fabricate assigned parts and document fixtures built.
  • Maintain and repair existing production fixtures.
  • Carry out ECNs concerning fixture modifications.
  • Deliver completed tools to manufacturing team and provide training on their use.
  • Utilize shop measuring equipment for accurate measurements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing machining experience.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating machine shop equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of shop math and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, materials, tooling, and welding processes.
  • Basic tool design skills and ability to establish sequential steps.
  • Understanding of assembly processes including dowel pins, drill bushings, fasteners, and hand tools.
  • Ability to work from hand sketches.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HASS or Miltronics programming.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and related tools.
  • Familiarity with optical measuring equipment and Faro Arm precision system.
  • Ability to assemble fixtures, hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems with minimal assistance.
