Production QC/QA, Electronics Technician
SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system called Starlink, the world’s largest constellation of highly advanced satellites. As a Microelectronics Technician you will join a small team that supports production of high‑speed RF and optical modules critical to delivering high‑speed internet worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate, maintain, and calibrate microelectronics equipment in an ESD‑controlled cleanroom, emphasizing detail, accuracy, precision, and efficiency.
- Manufacture high‑mix, medium‑volume high‑frequency RF products using diverse tool sets, semiconductor dies, and high‑tolerance stacking techniques.
- Set up and calibrate die attach machines and automated ball bonders.
- Verify processes using metrology tools (CSAM, X‑ray, 3D profilometers, pull/shear testers, contact angle goniometers) to assess epoxy voids, wirebond loop heights, and pull/shear forces.
- Work independently in a fast‑paced environment while managing workflow, safety, organization, inventory, and 5S principles.
- Communicate via MS Office Suite and ERP software to coordinate with engineers, specialists, and technicians.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 2+ years experience in a cleanroom electronics manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of microelectronics quality standards (MIL‑STD‑883, JEDEC JESD
22‑B116). - Hands‑on experience with die bonders, wire bonders, plasma cleaners, pull/shear testers, AOI systems, optical microscopes, and laser markers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, drive to succeed.
- Superior organizational skills for maintaining tidy work spaces and efficient workflows.
- Creative problem‑solving with eagerness to learn and innovate.
- Must work required shift hours, overtime, and weekends; 2nd Shift: 4 PM – 2 AM.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE for cleanroom environment.
- Perform repetitive assembly operations (grasping, standing, lifting, bending, etc.).
- Lift 25 pounds unassisted.
- Microelectronics Technician /Level 1: $25.00 – $33.00 /hour.
- Microelectronics Technician /Level 2: $30.00 – $39.00 /hour.
- Microelectronics Technician /Level 3: $35.00 – $45.00 /hour.
