- Comfortable working with wiring, connectors, PCBs, sensors, mechanical assemblies, and basic electronic test equipment.
- Ability to load, configure, or validate firmware and software on embedded or Linux-based systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, software, and sensor interfaces.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures while identifying ways to improve them.
- Clear written communication, especially for documenting procedures, test results, troubleshooting steps, and known issues.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate inventory, build records, and supplier communications.
- Comfortable working in a low-volume, engineering-led production environment.
- Experience with embedded Linux, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, or similar single-board computers.
- Familiarity with serial consoles, SSH, networking, shell scripts, Git, or diagnostic command-line tools.
- Experience with custom sensors, data acquisition, calibration, or signal validation.
- Experience maintaining build documentation, test plans, work instructions, quality records, or inventory systems.
- Basic soldering, rework, crimping, or cable assembly experience.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or external fabrication partners.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in hardware prototyping, lab environments, or product development
- Strong hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical system builds and validation
