EHS Specialist II – Environmental, Health & Safety
We are hiring an EHS Specialist II to support the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs across AAON’s operations. This mid‑level role involves conducting audits, delivering training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety and environmental audits to identify risks and ensure compliance.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
- Investigate incidents and near‑misses, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, including permits, reports, and training records.
- Monitor hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and lead drills.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily processes.
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety compliance, auditing, or program administration (manufacturing preferred).
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational safety standards.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and reference federal regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to time‑sensitive issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to present information to small‑to‑medium sized groups.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop during inspections and audits.
- Ability to walk up to three miles throughout manufacturing and warehouse facilities.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs as required.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in an active industrial environment.
Work is performed primarily on‑site at manufacturing and warehouse facilities. Employees are regularly exposed to industrial conditions, including noise, moving mechanical parts, elevated locations, and typical manufacturing environmental conditions. Personal protective equipment is required and all safety policies and procedures must be followed to maintain a safe working environment.

Pay Range: $62,280.00 – $76,120.00
