The Associate Manager, Quality Management is a full-time, on-site role based in Redmond, WA. This position oversees quality assurance activities for space propulsion and related systems, ensuring products, processes, and documentation meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading quality inspections, coordinating nonconformance investigations, managing corrective and preventive actions, and supporting root cause analysis. The role also involves collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve quality processes, monitoring key performance indicators, and preparing reports for leadership and customers.
The Associate Manager provides guidance to quality staff, supports audits, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability and mission success.
- Demonstrated experience in quality management, quality assurance, or quality engineering in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), risk assessment, and statistical process control.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, aerospace or defense quality requirements).
- Strong skills in data analysis, documentation, and reporting to assess performance and drive process improvements.
- Effective leadership and team coordination capabilities, including mentoring staff and managing cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, operations, supply chain, and external customers.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits and implementing audit findings into practical improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CQE, CQA, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Redmond, WA and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
