Amazon Leo Quality Team Position
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Amazon Leo Quality team is driven to develop a Quality System that is capable of scaling aerospace quality to volume and cost levels to meet end customer needs. This position will join the team at an exciting moment, with an opportunity to own quality system development and contribute to the design of requirements, processes, and systems used across the business.
Perform daily defect resolution as the Quality member. Investigates Production System issues to reduce defect rates and drive root cause corrective actions. Implements the Leo Quality System through process development and launch mechanisms. Partners with cross-functional groups to develop and qualify internal production processes, including Quality Assurance processes. Conduct rigorous Continuous Improvement activities to prevent recurrence of non-conformance during assembly. Perform audit activities to ensure compliance to QMS requirements.

Wed-Sat 5:30pm-3:30am OR Sun-Wed 5:30pm-3:30am. Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities include managing the MRB process at production, reviewing non-conformance, approving disposition, performing root cause analysis to reduce non-conformance, leading work instruction (SOP) for quality inspection team, performing in-process and outgoing quality inspection for assembly process, driving inspection improvement process and working toward industry 4.0 standards for automated inspection system, leading problem solving by using tools such as lean six sigma, 8D, A3, Ishikawa diagram or cause-and-effect diagram, and Design of Experiment.
A day in the life includes 24 hour NC review to see the trends and work towards containment actions, reviewing the NC on production floor and performing disposition, reviewing the rework and leading salvage process, performing measurement for quality lab measurement such as CMM, Romer Arm, Optical Vision System, OMM, Height Gage and other gages, working with Quality Engineering and Quality Inspection team and providing support as needed for both functions.
