Mackin Talent is hiring a Lab Coordinator to support laboratory operations and ensure efficient, safe, and well‑organized engineering lab environments. This position plays a critical role in coordinating equipment, inventory, safety compliance, and lab logistics while supporting cross‑functional teams and technical stakeholders. The Lab Coordinator will serve as a key operational partner, ensuring lab resources, facilities, and processes are maintained to support ongoing research, testing, and engineering activities.
Responsibilities- Oversee the overall functioning of the laboratory.
- Maintain and organize laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the lab.
- Inventory Management
- Manage inventory of laboratory equipment & supplies, EE & ME components.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and arrange for repairs or replacements.
- Ensure that equipment is properly used and handled by lab personnel.
- Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
- Administrative Tasks
- Maintain records of who is using lab spaces.
- Assist in budget management and financial record‑keeping.
- Coordinate scheduling of lab space and equipment usage.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with outside vendors.
- Facilitate communication between lab members, researchers, and other departments.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, faculty, and researchers on lab projects.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Training and Orientation
- Orient new lab personnel to laboratory policies and procedures.
- Provide training on basic laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
- 2+ years of experience supporting laboratory operations, engineering labs, or research environments.
- Experience coordinating laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies in a structured technical setting.
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety standards, SOPs, and compliance protocols.
- Experience managing inventory, tracking components or lab materials, and maintaining equipment records.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination with technical teams.
- 3–5+ years of laboratory coordination experience in an engineering or research environment.
- Experience supporting EE and ME lab environments or technical components.
- Experience coordinating equipment maintenance, calibration, and external vendors.
- Experience with lab management systems, purchasing/budget tracking, or training lab personnel on safety and operations.
- Major medical carrier.
