Job Description We are seeking a UX Researcher to join our Research team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in anthropometric research, wearable hardware fit and comfort studies, quantitative methods, and data pipeline management and a proven ability to translate research into device geometry and hardware decisions on tight timelines. Responsibilities:
Plan and execute fit, comfort, and anthropometry studies, including head scanning (Arc7, 3dMD, 3dSE), prototype wear testing, and fit surveys across the product development cycle. Design and run rapid, iterative validation studies against hardware targets such as weight, display geometry, and frame dimensions to inform CAD-lock and fabrication decisions. Build, maintain, and document the anthropometry data pipeline and database that feed industrial design and hardware decisions.
Apply quantitative methods, including measurement, statistical analysis, and modeling of anthropometric and fit data, to define and support design hypotheses. Collaborate with UXR leadership, Industrial Design, Product, and hardware partners to translate findings into device geometry and fit decisions. Develop and execute research roadmaps spanning multiple concurrent fit and comfort studies. Leverage research vendors, assistants, and external partners to augment data collection and analysis capacity.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Quantitative research skills, including measurement, statistics, and analysis of structured anthropometric or behavioral datasets.
Experience with qualitative research, including participant interviews and usability testing. Hands-on data collection with hardware, wearables, or human-subjects measurement; 3D scanning or biometrics is a plus. Survey design and analysis skills using tools such as Qualtrics, including rapid cleaning and analysis of structured study data. Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently across concurrent studies.
Experience using storytelling and data visualization to drive traction with design and engineering audiences. Comfort with feedback and autonomous decision-making in an ambiguous, fast-moving research environment. BA/BS in a human behavior or quantitative-related field such as HCI, human factors, biomechanics, anthropometry, psychology, statistics, information science, computer science, or economics. Preferred
Skills:
Graduate degree in a related field.
