Commercial Sales Lead (Starlink Mobile) – Space
X is developing a new satellite‑to‑mobile network to bring ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide via the Starlink constellation. We partner with telecommunication companies worldwide to deliver coverage wherever a phone can see the sky. This new product will expand our mission by extending coverage to billions of existing cellular devices, supporting customers such as hikers, emergency responders, rural communities, remote sensors, and more.
- Engage in customer inquiries, qualify leads, and conduct pre‑sales discussions.
- Manage the sales processes for a subset of customers, including follow‑ups, documentation (proposals, NDAs, etc.), and ensuring account status in our customer database.
- Own and implement specific sales‑process improvement projects that enable exponential sales growth by collaborating with engineering, business, and regulatory teams.
- Create compelling communications materials to support our efforts to increase access to space and position Space
X as an industry leader. - Support the team in sales efforts, including customer onsite visits, offsite meetings, conferences, and other sales events.
- Adapt and work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or business discipline.
- 2+ years of enterprise sales experience, pre‑sales engineering, operations, or experience working in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience with NTN and satellite‑based telecommunications.
- Independently motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of project ownership.
- Bias toward action and automation.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, preferably in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with senior business leaders.
- Demonstrated success driving tangible impact within a broader organization.
- Strong knowledge of Starlink’s network infrastructure, launch vehicles, and the telecommunications industry.
- Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hard working with excellent customer interface skills.
- This position is based in Redmond, WA and requires on‑site presence – remote work is not considered.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, other Space
X locations, and events as needed. - Availability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support closing sales opportunities.
Pay range:
Sales Operations Lead – $90,000 – $125,000 per year. Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
In addition to base salary, you may be eligible for long‑term incentives (company stock or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage; a 401(k) retirement plan; disability and life insurance; paid parental leave; 3 weeks of paid vacation; 10 or more paid holidays per year; and paid sick time in compliance with Washington State law.
Company shuttles are offered for round‑trip travel from select Seattle locations to the Space
X Redmond office Monday through Friday.
