Position: Partnerships Manager (Starlink Mobile)

Position Overview

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity explores the stars is more exciting than one where we remain on Earth. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER (STARLINK MOBILE)

SpaceX is developing a new satellite‑to‑mobile network to bring ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide via the Starlink constellation. We partner with telecommunication companies across the globe to deliver this service directly from satellites to mobile phones, aiming to provide coverage anywhere a phone can see the sky. The product will extend connectivity to billions of existing cellular devices, including hikers, emergency responders, rural communities, remote sensors, and people in emergency situations.

Combined with state‑of‑the‑art satellite technologies, exclusive spectrum, and Starship’s unprecedented payload capacity to low‑Earth orbit in a single launch, the next‑generation Starlink Mobile service will deliver unmatched performance to cell phones and IoT devices—helping close coverage gaps and eventually eliminate mobile dead zones worldwide.

In this role you will take ownership of the assigned telecom partner relationship after contract signing, collaborating with engineering, business, and regulatory stakeholders. The Partnerships Manager requires strong analytical skills to drive customer adoption, develop new business models, and support accurate deployment forecasting. Success requires systems thinking, creativity, and excellent communication skills. It is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of satellite connectivity with a world‑class team advancing our presence globally.

Responsibilities
  • Support the full cycle of partnership deals between SpaceX and telecom partners, from system integration to commercial service launch.
  • Perform system performance analysis and report metrics internally and externally.
  • Contribute to domestic and international partnerships, including technical, regulatory, product, and commercial discussions.
  • Assist in developing and executing international expansion strategies and create partnership materials such as playbooks, presentations, product documentation, case studies, and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, regulatory, business development, etc.).
  • Stay current with internal technology, regulatory, and business updates to support commercial and marketing efforts.
  • Synthesize information and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline OR 5+ years of professional experience in partnerships, technical account management, or sales/pre‑sales engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in partnerships, sales/pre‑sales engineering, or technical account management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in technical partnerships or technical sales engineering.
  • Strong understanding of satellites, the global telecommunications industry, and/or NTN and satellite‑based systems.
  • Strong interest in assessing market trends and identifying future business opportunities.
  • Desire to be customer‑facing and build strong partner relationships.
  • Previous experience in an engineering or technical role.
  • Experience managing enterprise accounts or contributing to revenue targets.
  • Experience with hardware, communications, networking, or IoT technologies.
  • Experience at a fast‑growing technology startup is a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • This position is based in Washington (Redmond/Woodinville) or Sunnyvale, CA and requires onsite presence—remote work is not considered.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • Willingness to travel to other SpaceX offices, vendors, and customers (up to 40%).
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
