Student Research Assistant - PSY (Hawk), F26
Psychology Student Research Assistant working with Professor Christopher Hawk
Assist with human-subjects research, including:
- Setting up lab space
- Running participants through study protocols
- Consolidating and organizing data
- Compensating participants
- Maintaining accurate records
Support background research efforts:
- Conduct literature searches
- Read, catalog, and store academic articles
- Contribute to literature reviews and IRB applications
May assist with:
- Developing study materials or stimuli
- Coding and analyzing raw data
- Other research-related tasks as needed
Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Track and report hours worked accurately
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Preferred:
Experience with literature reviews or data collection, experience in R for data analysis, experience with Python
Expected dates of employment:
August 31 – December 18, 2026
Expected number of hours per week: 10

Wage Range: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at Digi Pen

Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Digi Pen Student Employee Academic Requirements:
- Are currently a Matriculated student at Digi Pen Institute of Technology
- Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in Digi Pen Course Catalog
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Taken and passed PSY-101 with a B or better
Requirement Exceptions:
It is possible to still be selected for a position with Digi Pen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
Once you have applied for – and the supervisor decides to offer you – a position, we will contact the necessary managers (Supervisor, Department Chair, and/or the Dean of Faculty) to complete and sign off on an Academic Waiver form, depending on which requirements need to be waived.
