Lab Associate, Media Development

The base pay range for this non-exempt position at commencement of employment is expected to be $28.00 to $31.00/hour. • Prepare media and buffers for cell culture experiments and other lab activities under supervision of a Lab Manager
• Support troubleshooting to correct deviations in media preparations
• Support scientists with media and buffer investigations
• Inventory lab supplies and support chemical inventory efforts; assist in ordering supplies
• Support lab productivity and efficiency efforts
• Clean and maintain lab and lab equipment
• Support solution preparation and lab maintenance for other groups as time allows
• Autoclave solutions and cell culture assemblies as needed; other tasks as assigned

• High School diploma with five years of relevant laboratory experience
• Organizational skills; motivated
• Foundational chemistry knowledge (pH, osmolarity, solution calculations)
• Attention to detail (scientific observations)
• Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Drive
• Fluent in English; effective communication
• Ability to lift 40 pounds

• Associate degree (2 years relevant experience) or entry-level Bachelor’s in chemistry/biology/related field
• Experience cleaning/maintaining scientific equipment
• Familiarity with preparing cell culture media and buffers
• Experience improving lab efficiency (e.g., lean 6-sigma training)
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize
