Position Summary

The Executive Response Team (ERT) is a core component of the embedded Executive Protection Services (EPS) Program, established in 1995. To support expanded 24/7 operations at the client's global headquarters in Redmond, Washington, the program is introducing an ERT Agent (Hybrid) assignment with additional responsibilities beyond the scope of the existing ERT Agent role.

ERT Agents selected for the Hybrid assignment will work a rotating 2:2:3 Panama schedule. In addition to core protective operations responsibilities, Hybrid ERT Agents will also maintain cross-functional capabilities to provide backfill coverage for the Executive Security Operations Center (ESOC) as required.

Hybrid ERT Agents are armed, full-time, salaried professionals responsible for protecting designated executives and board members, executive spaces, and locations designated for temporary executive use.

Duties include executive protection, protective advances, security driving, surveillance detection/ counter surveillance, and related duties as assigned. Agents are expected to respond swiftly and appropriately to known or perceived threats, including the use of reasonable and necessary lethal or non-lethal force when required to protect client designees. Agents report to ERT Team Leaders and the ERT Senior Operations Manager. They work closely with the client's in-house Executive Protection Unit (EPU), executive offices, key business groups, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Success in this role requires professionalism, initiative, personal accountability, sound judgment, exceptional interpersonal skills, flexibility and resilience under stress, ability to operate effectively within complex corporate ecosystems, and strong working knowledge of executive protection best practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support executive protection operations for assigned client site and covered executives
  • Staff assigned security posts
  • Act as an advance agent, security driver, or support agent for executive security operations
  • Respond, observe, report, and/or intervene as appropriate to situations which may compromise the safety and security of designated client personnel and assets
  • Participate in emergency response actions to facilitate the protection of the client's people, assets, and reputation. This includes verbal de-escalation, use of force and appropriate medical treatment in accordance with client and Inter-Con policy, training, and applicable law.
  • Provide surveillance detection / protective surveillance for security operations
  • Contacting persons of interest and conducting field interviews

Provide static and roving security coverage for headquarters campus and immediate area in a way that is professional, courteous, and in compliance with established policies and procedures

Support client HR functions as requested (i.e. security assisted investigations, removal of access, and security assisted terminations)

Clear, concise, and professional communication with all stakeholders

  • Communicate with and support the functions of the EPS Executive Security Operations Center (ESOC), MSGS Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), and HQ Campus Security team as required.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders regarding assigned projects and services to help mitigate risk and/or impact to Team and client security operations
  • Maintain critical relationships inside and outside the organization to support Team security operations

As required, provide full cross-functional coverage for the EPS Executive Security Operations Center (ESOC), including access control, alarm monitoring, camera monitoring, badge traces, incident coordination/ command/ control, etc.

Participate in development and implementation of operational policies and procedures

  • Assist in the development and implementation of SOPs
  • Assist in the development of a streamlined incident reporting and activity log, and remain diligent in maintaining an accurate record
  • Contribute working groups and special projects teams as necessary
  • Evaluate the present and future security environment to better understand risk vectors, security requirements, course of action development, and mitigation strategies
  • Routine problem solving and tasking
  • Participate and contribute to team and client meetings as required
