Location: Redmond, WA (Multiple Job Sites across Seattle-area locations))
Job Type: Contract
Pay Range: $30hr - $40/hr.
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in flooring installation, tile laying, and various aspects of construction site work.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including remodeling, restoration, and new installations, utilizing a wide range of hand and power tools. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction techniques to ensure precise and durable tile installations across residential and commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install tiles for floors, walls, and other surfaces in accordance with project specifications
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine layout and design plans
- Utilize hand tools such as trowels, cutters, and caulking guns as well as power tools for efficient installation
- Perform related tasks including cabinet installation, fixture mounting, trim carpentry, and caulking to complete finished surfaces
- Assist with water damage restoration projects by removing damaged materials and installing new flooring or tile as needed
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Maintain a clean work environment and organize tools and materials for efficient workflow
- Proven experience in tile laying, flooring installation, or related construction fields
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics, and restoration industry practices
- Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, chisels, trowels, as well as power tools including drills and buffing equipment
- Experience with carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry and cabinet installation is a plus
- Familiarity with water damage restoration techniques and floor care procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills
- Prior experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety protocols is preferred
- Handyman experience or construction painting skills are advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
