Job DescriptionThe Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer’s vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition. The technician thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle while supporting the company’s promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence. The technician works in alignment with all team members to achieve repair‑facility KPIs and acts as a Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Remove dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as required.
- Weld and fit parts into place; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or agreed‑upon paint.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other repairers.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Proficiency in using tools required for the trade.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

$19 - $27 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be available tied to individual or business initiatives.
