What You’ll Do

You will combine social‑justice‑oriented case management with practical support services for families and individuals in the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct assessments at a client’s entry and ongoing to identify strengths, barriers, and needs for housing stability.
  • Provide strengths‑based, personalized services to families, including job readiness skills, wage‑progression support, and money‑management training.
  • Maintain accurate client files, record progress, and complete reports for program outcomes and the Safe Harbors HMIS system.
  • Facilitate resident meetings, support groups, job clubs and educational workshops.
  • Develop and support employment opportunities: build relationships with local employers, assist clients in job placement and retention, and identify employer training needs.
  • Co‑ordinate office protocols, supervise support staff, and manage schedules and timesheets.
  • Implement and uphold the YWCA’s Social Justice Initiative by addressing how racism, sexism, classism, and other oppress ions intersect in the services we provide.
  • Collaborate on quality‑assurance projects, procedural flow‑charting, and system development for housing services.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with communities of color and an understanding of the intersection of racism and poverty.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional case‑management experience with families.
  • Experience as a service provider in crisis intervention, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, and employment services for low‑income and homeless families.
  • Knowledge of community services available in Seattle‑King County and of local public and subsidized housing programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
  • Core competencies:

    oral and written communication, attention to detail, relationship building, crisis management, resilience, analytical thinking, coaching, discernment, organizational understanding, problem solving, and social‑justice advocacy.
Hours, Rate, and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $28.00
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Benefits include medical insurance, a retirement plan, generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave. YWCA offers a 403(b) plan and a retirement fund after two years of employment.
Physical Requirements
  • Continuously interact with clients, agency staff, employers, and community representatives.
  • Frequently stand, walk, sit, climb, and travel to off‑site meetings.
  • Frequently use telephones, computers, fax machines, and other office equipment.
  • Lift and carry up to 5 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, push, pull, and reach for files and supplies.
