Software Design Engineer

Overview

Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in cloud-based solutions and distributed systems, is seeking a Software Design Engineer 2 to join their team. As a Software Design Engineer 2, you will be part of the Software Development Department supporting the Onsite Redmond, WA team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, collaborative spirit, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Software Design Engineer 2

Location: Redmond, WA - Onsite

Pay Range: $51.28 - $56.44 on Experis W2 (Benefits/PTO/401k)

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, distributed Node.js applications on Azure Kubernetes.
• Create and enhance user interfaces for web applications built using React.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Implement best practices for software development, including test-driven development, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability, supporting on-call duties as needed.

• At least 2+ years of experience in software development, focusing on backend development with Node.js.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and cloud computing principles, with hands-on experience in Azure services.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Play Wright.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
