Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in Gameplay, you will lead the implementation of key gameplay features and manage small teams of engineers, collaborating across departments to surprise and delight players.
Responsibilities- Develop, write, and maintain clean, portable code and debug using relevant programming languages.
- Review and optimize code written by other engineers.
- Apply advanced programming skills to provide effective solutions.
- Document technical solutions for distribution to stakeholders.
- Allocate work to team members and supervise results.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
- Recommend system architecture, data structures, and algorithm design.
- Manage performance of team members by setting goals, tracking progress, providing feedback, and addressing issues promptly.
- Review, analyze, and test products under development to meet Nintendo’s standards of quality and timeliness.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience in the relevant field.
- Strong programming skills, including code review and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of core technologies and workflows for video game development.
- Understanding of interactive entertainment methodologies and production pipelines.
- Advanced knowledge of C, C++, or C#.
- Experience supervising a team, allocating work, and coaching for high‑quality execution.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring other gameplay engineers.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA and requires regular onsite work; fully remote status is not available.
The position includes a base pay range of $149,414—$224,121 USD, potential for a semi‑annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
