Project Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for an engineer to build software for secure communications and strong authentication, enabling confidentiality for our customers and security for our constellation. Your responsibilities include:

• Build and support mission‑critical security systems for the Leo constellation and customer terminals.
• Develop services around public key infrastructure, certificate management, and identity management for Project Leo.
• Design and implement secure software components, including PKI, encryption, key management, and secure device provisioning.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) for new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of security technology and concepts (Authentication, Authorization, Single sign‑on, Cryptography, etc.).
• Experience with Java, C++, or other programming languages.

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
