Job OverviewThe main function of the Web Developer is to design, code, and create system specifications, analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications.
Terms:
1 year contract, expected to extend.
Location:
Onsite – Redmond, Washington.
- Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain application programs and interfaces.
- Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
- Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support.
- Identify, escalation, and document production impact issues.
- Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles.
- Knowledge of computer development software such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
- Expertise with COBOL, MVS, CICS, JCL, or other mainframe tools and utilities.
- Develop and maintain scalable front-end applications using React.
- Build and optimize back‑end services and APIs using C# (.NET).
- Design and manage relational databases using SQL Server.
- Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Fast learner – need to ramp up with internal tools and processes quickly.
- 2-4 overall years of experience in the field.
- A degree is preferred for this role due to focus on experience.
- Full‑stack web development (React + backend services).
- Dev Ops experience such as CI/CD.
- Cloud development experience.
- The team is responsible for building internal portals that support the Index Server team's tools and developing the foundational infrastructure for the portal platform. Day‑to‑day work spans full‑stack portal development, infrastructure engineering, and cross‑team collaboration.
