Amazon EMR is a web service that enables customers to run massive clusters with open‑source data processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, and HBase. We are building new features for cluster management, real‑time data processing, and customer data interaction. Join our team to design and build large‑scale distributed systems for a global user base.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build next‑generation technologies that make EMR the best environment for large‑scale data processing workloads.
- Work on complex problems in distributed systems and query engines.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
- Deliver systems and features with top‑notch quality, on time.
- Own the software development process end‑to‑end, including working with engineers and product managers to develop requirements; designing, architecting, planning, implementing, testing, deploying, and operating production EMR systems.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- Programming proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with object‑oriented design.
- 1+ year of experience contributing to systems architecture and design, including architecture patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Knowledge of Big Data applications such as Spark and Presto.
- Knowledge of container platforms such as Docker and related technologies.
Location:
Redmond, WA, USA
Salary range: $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
