Want to change the world with Big Data and Analytics? Join the Amazon EMR team in Amazon Web Services. Amazon EMR enables customers to run massive clusters with open‑source data processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, HBase, and more, scaling up or down as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build next‑generation technologies that enhance EMR as a platform for large‑scale data processing workloads.
- Address complex problems in distributed systems and query engines.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
- Deliver systems and features with top‑notch quality on time.
- Own the end‑to‑end software development process: work with engineers and product managers to develop requirements; design, architect, plan, implement, test, deploy, and operate production EMR systems.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object‑oriented design.
- 1+ year of experience contributing to new and current system architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scalability).
- Knowledge of Big Data applications such as Spark and Presto.
- Knowledge of container platforms such as Docker and related technologies.
The base salary range for this position is $–$ annually (USA, WA, Redmond). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and optional Supplemental life plans), EAP, mental health support, medical advice line, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
